Purpose: The game should have a clear purpose – what is it trying to accomplish in real life.

With our game we want to help the caregiver and the cognitive impaired’s relationship. We want to do this because with our research we found that a lot of family members that are caregivers, have a hard time reconnecting with the cognitive impaired.

Target audience: Do you have a clear idea who your target audience is? What are their physical and mental capabilities? Does your design appeal specifically to that audience?

Our target audience is the caregiver and the cognitive impaired people that are looking for a way to communicate and reconnect with each other. The cognitive impaired person is in the somewhat earlier stages of dementia and our target audience has to learn how to live with each other again.

Solution:How do your mechanics and gameplay relate to your purpose? Does it solve a problem?

We can never heal Alzheimer’s or any dementia with our game, but what we can do is, help to stimulate the brain by our little games and old photos and videos. When the target audience opens the app and plays our games they can also try and reconnect with each other, like the older days

Entertainment:Do the mechanics and gameplay make your game fun to play? Do I want to play more? Again and again?

We focused on our target audience a lot by looking not necessarily what we see as fun games, but what they see as fun. There for is our game fun to play but only for a small audience. We believe that they would like to play more and more, not only because of the games, but also because of the win-conditions they receive.

Novelty value: Is your game innovative? Did you come up with something new?

Although the games in our app aren’t necessarily new, how we use them is. We use simple games that the cognitive impaired person already knows, so it’s easy to understand and get into it. By giving them an easy task they have more chance to succeed reconnecting by photos and videos.
